FLEXIBLE CIRCUIT CARD ELASTIC CABLE CONNECTOR

PURPOSE: To provide a flexible circuit card having an elastic cable connector assembly to transmit signals at high speed among a plurality of printed circuit board of a high performance computer system. CONSTITUTION: A flexible circuit card connects a cable assembly 40 to a printed circuit board 50. A conductor trace of the flexible circuit card is extended toward an end part of an elastic material 17 and terminated at spherical contacts 16, 63. The spherical contacts 16, 63 are inclined and carry out wiping work on pads which are to be joined and are on a printed circuit card, so that electric connection can be done. A plurality of wires connected to a plurality of elastic connectors are used for the cable assembly 40. At least one elastic connector is connected to respective end parts of the cable assembly 40 and respective connectors comprise a plurality of contact to be used for joining with a plurality of pads on the surface of the printed circuit board. Mutual and vertical connections of cables and the printed circuit board at high density are provided by the elastic connectors.
