The present invention relates to syringes comprising a body 1, a needle 5, a plunger 7, a rod 8 which is integral with the plunger, the rod emerging from the body via the end 3 of the body which is opposite the end 2 on which the needle 5 is arranged. The syringe according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises a ring 10 in the form of a hollow half-torus, threaded onto the rod so that the inner edge 13 of its central orifice 11 matches, on contact, the lateral surface 14 of the rod 8, so that its outer edge 12 matches, on contact, the inner surface 15 of the body 1 and so that its concave face 16 is turned towards the end 3 of the body through which the rod 8 emerges, the ring being made of a material having resilience and so that, when it is not threaded onto the rod 8 and it is not in contact with the inner surface 15 of the body 1, the cross-sectional area of its central orifice 11 is slightly less than that of the rod and so that its external cross-sectional area 12 is slightly greater than that of the cross-section of the inner surface 15 of the body. <IMAGE>
