Drive device for a wiper device

A known drive device has a drive crank and a drive rod which engages with a transmission lever which sits, in a manner such that it can rotate, on the wiper shaft. This transmission lever is coupled, via a clip, in such a manner to a rocker, which sits in a rotationally fixed manner on the wiper shaft, that for securing under a snow load it is possible for the lever to be deflected relative to the rocker in the vicinity of the reversal points of the wiping movement. The novel drive device provides a transmission lever (3) which is coupled directly to the rocker (4) and with a slotted guide link (17, 18) can rotate relative to the rocker. The slotted guide link (17), which is closed at least on one side and is in the shape of an elongated hole, makes it possible for a central region of the actual wiped area (7) to be wiped, even when a spring element (13), which defines the normal position, fails.
