PURPOSE: To smooth the participation and release of plural participants to/from multi-media communication. CONSTITUTION: Calling set-up and channel resource allocation among the plural participants are started by multi-media conference calling composed of the reception of a notice for desiring the start of a video conference by a transmitter (the starter of the conference). At the point of time, the number of channels required for intended calling is decided. Then, the respective requested participants are identified as communicable, busy or no-reply. When a receiver is communicable and sufficient channels can be utilized, calling is set up and transmission is to be performed by which channel and the other participants are to be listened to by which channel are reported to the respective present members of the conference. When the respective receivers are added, the transmitter can have the conference with the present receiver. When, it is decided that the receiver does not participate in the conference at the point of time, the calling of the receiver is ended and a calling procedure is continued for the other receivers until the entire conference is set up. The respective participants can leave the conference at any time. |
