PURPOSE: To automatically convert the operation parameter without changing the elution order of the peak and the resolving power by finding the operation parameter by utilizing the ratio of the new column parameter and the existent column parameter. CONSTITUTION: In the case the first column of diameter d1 is converted into the second column of diameter d2 , for example, the operation parameter of the second column is found on the basis of the operation parameter of the first column. At thus point, most parameters can be regarded as the ratio rx between two columns X1 , X2 . Accordingly, rx =X2 /X1 = parameter of the second column/parameter of the first column is established, and the operation parameter of the second column including the open program condition, can be found by finding the ratio such as rd = diameter ratio = d2 /d1 , r1 = length ratio = 12 /11 , rdf = liquid film thickness ratio = df2 /df1 , and rβ= phase ratio = rd /rdf , and multiplying the same by the parameter of the first column.
