PURPOSE:To highly effectually and rapidly discharge a slug floated on molten metal by slantingly moving a converter after a preprocessing, inserting a gas blowing lance from a furnace entrance to dip the same in a molten iron, and discharging the slug by making use of the protuberance of the melt due to the action of gas bubbles produced by blowing inactive gas therein and a wave phenomenon of a slug layer. CONSTITUTION:A converter 1 is slantingly moved after desilicification dephosphorus, desulfurization, and a gas blowing lance 2 is inserted into a molten iron 4 and further inactive gas is blown. The blown gas produces air bubbles 5 in the molten iron 4, which bubbles 5 produce protuberance 6 in the molten iron 4 by making use of ascending force and inertia force of the blowing. As a result, a protuberance portion of a bath in the converter 1 loses the slug 3 and the bath is directly exposed to the atmosphere in the furnace, so that the slug 3 which forms the protuberance portion is pushed away to another portion where no protuberance portion is existent the thickness of the slug 3 in the height direction of the same is increased compared with that before time bubbles are blown. Further, a wave is produced on the flug layer when the bubble intermittently escape from a blade.
|
