PURPOSE:To restore compressed characters to ordinary character pattern data even when the character pattern data are compressed by using a compressing method which suppresses redundancy by allowing the appearance frequency of data to be deviated. CONSTITUTION:A compressed font storage part 204 is stored with compressed font data obtained by replacing the character pattern data with a compressed code string having its redundant part suppressed corresponding to the appearance frequency of the data. A reproduction command generation part 225 refers to a reverse conversion table storage part 206 and restores the compressed code string constituting the compressed font data to a corresponding reproduction command. A reproduction command execution part 226 refers to a key word storage part 207 and restores this reproduction command to the original character pattern data. |
