PURPOSE:To provide the rotary mirror which is high in production efficiency, is inexpensive, is highly accurate, simplifies the process for production in the case of use of the mirror for an optical polarizer and facilitates the assembly and adjustment thereof. CONSTITUTION:A material for resin molding is disposed between a metallic mold for molding having a mirror finished surface molding surface and a base plate 35 having a circular columnar or polygonal part and the resin material is molded, by which a resin layer transferred with the mirror finished surface molding surface is formed. A reflection film which reflects light is formed on this resin layer, by which the rotary mirror is inexpensively produced. A material having large repulsive force to the material for resin molding to be used for molding the resin layer is used for the circumference 32 of the transfer surface 31 for forming the specular finished surface of the metallic mold, by which the influence of the attraction by the affinity of wetting that the resin 34 receives between the resin and the wall surface of the metallic mold is lessened. The force to regulate the movement of the resin 34 tending to compensate and relieve the shrinkage of the resin 34 at the time of shrinking of the resin by curing is made small, by which the replenishing of the resin 34 is effectively executed. |
