PURPOSE:To obtain a low toxic therapeutic agent for diabetes, comprising a germacrone epoxide as an active ingredient and excellent in improving action on glucose tolerance and excellent in safety. CONSTITUTION:This therapeutic agent for diabetes comprises (4S,5S)-(+)- germacrone-4,5-epoxide of the formula as an active ingredient. Furthermore, the daily dose of this compound for an adult is preferably within the range of 5-500mg. |
