The present invention relates to a method of assembling a connector having an insulating body (1) which includes a front part (2) into which is inserted an active part (30) of a plurality of contact elements (30, 33, 34), which have a rear part which is elbowed (bent) (at 32), and a far end (33) located in a slot (21) of a rear flange (wing) (20) of the insulating body (1). According to the invention, the method includes a step of immobilization by thermoforming the far ends (33) in their respective slots (21) without addition of material. The connector thus produced has turnovers (double folds) of material (40) which are solidly attached to the edges (23) of the corresponding slot (21) allowing immobilization of the contacts (30) and their precise positional retention. <IMAGE> |
