<p>A top fitting and closure cap (30) for a fluid container (not shown) includes a dip tube (31), pump (32), valves (37, 40) and discharge nozzle (33), whereby operation of trigger (34) draws fluid from the container up tube (31) and into cylinder (36) to be discharged from the nozzle (33) as a spray or jet. The closure cap (30) has a valve member comprising an outer cylindrical body (2) which is a force fit over spigot (4) and a valve (5) resiliently mounted within body (2) by means of thin flexible webs (7). The nose (6) of valve (5) closes against tapered seat (43). The valve (5) lifts from the seat at very low differential pressures to vent the container during discharge of the contents. The valve otherwise seals the container against fluid loss during carriage and particularly inversion.</p> |
