The control device according to the invention comprises a disc (6) mounted so that it can rotate on the door and carrying an off-centred stub (7); a link rod (8) articulated to the stub (7); a first compressible elastic member (9) connecting the first end (8a) of the link rod to a pivot (10) fixed to the door, the first elastic member being compressed when the door is in its closed position and the locking member in its active position; a second compressible elastic member (11) connecting the link rod (8) to the locking member; a third compressible elastic member (12) connecting the second end (8b) of the link rod to a fixed ball joint (13) which is parallel and adjacent to the axis of articulation (A) of the door; a driving member (14) for entraining the disc in terms of rotation; and means (15) for triggering the halting of the driving member, either when the locking member (4) arrives in its active position while the door is in its closed position, or when the door arrives in its open position.
