Process for the isomerisation of a 1-alkene substituted in the 2 position by a hydrocarbon radical, contained in a hydrocarbon feedstock, to a 2-alkene substituted in the 2 position by a hydrocarbon radical, in which the said feedstock is introduced into the reboiling region of a distillation-isomerisation apparatus, of elongate form, containing, at its end opposite the reboiling region, a region for condensation of the vapours, heating is carried out to reflux at the boiling temperature of the said hydrocarbon feedstock for a period of time sufficient to isomerise at least part of the said 1-alkene to 2-alkene and then, after stopping the heating, a feedstock enriched in 2-alkene is recovered in the reboiling region, characterised in that the distillation-isomerisation region, situated between the reboiling region and the condensation region, contains an isomerisation catalyst in the form of solid particles contained in at least one element of C type comprising a container having a closed outer casing which is permeable to the fluids and impermeable to the said solid particles.
