PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an image recorder provided with bi- directional thyristors for controlling a heater. CONSTITUTION:This controller is provided with two bi-directional thyristors Q11 and Q21 connected to each other in parallel the heater H1, a selecting means including photo-TRIAC-couplers SSR11 and SSR21 for selecting one of the bi-directional thyristors Q11 and Q21 and connecting it to the heater H1 in series and a means including a central control element IC1 drive- controlling the heater H1 by one bi-directional thyristor selected by the selecting means.
