The present invention relates to an apparatus for adjusting the angle between elements of a wheelchair. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a plate with interlocking teeth and a locking block with matching teeth. The locking block is attached to the wheelchair or an element of the wheelchair.The plate is pivotally attached to the same wheelchair or wheelchair element. The angle between the plate and the wheelchair or wheelchair element is fixed by pivoting the attached components to the desired position and forcing the interlocking teeth of the date to engage the matching teeth of the locking block.
