POLYMER SOLID-ELECTROLYTE COMPOSITION AND ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL USING SAID COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: To provide a polymer solid electrolytic composition most suitable for a membrane of an electrochemical cell by improving ion conductivity by lowering the specific resistance of the polymer solid electrolytic substance and at the same time increasing water content. CONSTITUTION: This polymer solid electrolytic composition comprises polymer solid electrolytic substance selected from perfluorocarbonsulfonic acids, polysulfones, perfluorocarboxylic acids, styrene-divinylbenzenesulfonic acid-type cation exchange resin, styrene-butadiene-type anion exchange resin and 0.01-50wt.% (based on the weight of the polymer solid electrolytic substance) of finely granulated silica and/or fibrous silica fiber. Consequently, the specific resistance of the polymer solid electrolytic composition is lowered and at the same time the water content is increased and an electrochemical cell containing the polymer solid electrolytic composition is provided with high performance.
