PURPOSE:To constitute a power unit for pulse laser which controls the output of a pulse laser to a fixed level so that the power unit can perform highly responsive control and can discriminate the kind and breakage of a flash lamp. CONSTITUTION:When an impedance measurement command is inputted from an input section 20, a CPU 23 starts laser oscillation by actuating a voltage setting section 17 and timing circuit 16, discriminates the kind of a used lamp by calculating impedance characteristics from the output voltage value Vo and peak current value Ip measured by means of a voltage detecting section 18 and peak current detecting section 19, displays the discriminated results on a displaying section 15. Then a working start command is inputted and the CPU 23 discriminates the suitableness of the registered working condition of the used lamp and starts working. When the lamp is the same kind, but has different characteristics, the CPU 23 performs arithmetic operation to modify the working conditions so that the peak current can meet the registered value. In case the peak current becomes abnormal due to the breakage, etc., of the lamp, the CPU 23 stops the working by stopping the operation of the circuits 16 and 17 and displays a warning on the displaying section 15. |
