polymerising para-phenylene diamine and terephthal 7il chloride in the mixd. solution comprising amide based and inorg. salts to produce the optical isotropic polymer solution of 0.5-1.5 inherent viscosity; then forming film, and coagulating the film in tert-amine solution bath; and then washing and drying the resultant. The amide based soln is N-methyl pyrrolidone, hexamethyl phosphoamide, N,N-dimethyl aceteamide, N,N-dimethyl formamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, or N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl urea. The inorg. salts are LiCl, KCl, CaCl2 or KBr. The obtd. film has excellent mechanical properties, and is useful for high temp. cohesive tape, flexible circuit board.
