Process for bending glass sheets

The invention relates to a process and to an oven for bending glass sheets. The glass sheets are heated to the bending temperature by conveying them from one heating section to another, supported on a bending form. In the bending section 4, the glass sheet is heated such that the desired bending takes place partially or entirely due to the influence of gravity. During the bending, the temperature distribution in the glass sheet is acted on by convection blowing. Directing the blowing onto the central area of the glass sheet causes a graduated, arcuate sack to be generated. <IMAGE>
