Wood hardening process - involves impregnating with monomer or prepolymer, compressing and hardening

The wood is impregnated with a curable monomer or prepolymer. During or after a compression stage, the impregnated wood is given a curing treatment to cure the monomer and fix the wood in the compressed condition. Pref. the monomer can be e.g. an aminoplastic or N-methylol type or a carbamide. Pref. the wood is impregnated with an aq. soln. of the monomer.
