PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of drive for recovering waste toner, to reduce the driving load of a device main body, and simultaneously, to prevent the adverse effect of the carrying of the waste toner on image formation, in a copying process by operating a toner carrying member, linked with the loading/ unloading actions of a paper feeding cassette. CONSTITUTION:The toner carrying member 10 is rotatably fitted to a waste toner tank, and a gear 12 is attached to one shaft end of the member 10. A one-way clutch 13 is installed on the gear 12, so that the toner carrying member 10 is rotated only in a direction where the waste toner is sent to the waste toner tank. Then, a rack 7a is formed on the upper part of one sidewall of the paper feeding cassette 7, and engaged with the gear 12. Therefore, whenever the paper feeding cassette 7 is operated to load/unload in a prescribed direction by an operator, the toner carrying member 10 is rotated via the gear 12 and the one way clutch 13, and the waste toner retained in a space is sent to the waste toner tank. |
