PURPOSE:To provide a piezoelectric electrostrictive ceramic material capable of imparting a large electrostriction not only at room temp. but also at high temp. such as about 130 deg.C by doping a specified element as an impurity to a Pb-Nb-Zr-Sn-Ti oxides. CONSTITUTION:In the piezoelectric electrostrictive ceramic material consisting of the Pb-Nb-Zr-Sn-Ti oxide, the group VIII element or the group III an element other than Nb, La or Yb in the Periodic Table is doped as an impurity. As a preferable piezoelectric electrostrictive ceramic material, a material having the formula Pb1-0.5a-cBacNba{(Zr1-bSnb)1-yTiy}1-aMxO3 (in the formula, M is the group VIII element or group IIIa element excepting Nd, La or Yb in the periodic Table, a<=0.03; 0.15<=b<=0.6; c<=0.12; 0.01<=x<=0.1 and y<=0.1) is exemplified. |
