The start-lock detecting circuit of an elevator in an elevator starting circuit for controlling an up/down operation command relay sequence includes a control circuit having a main CPU for the elevator operation control, an elevator operation command motor controlling CPU, and a register and decoders forming data transmission circuits for supplying data to the main CPU and motor controlling CPU for receiving the data information value to set the main CPU via an AND gate, and a motor control relay sequence circuit for detecting contact point state of a relay from the motor controlling CPU to a drive circuit and a hybrid circuit of the control circuit. Thus, if an abnormal lock-detection relay is not magnetized at the elevator starting lock, this state is checked in the CPU for reinitializing and a door is open for the safety of passengers in a cage while the up/down operation command information value is supplied again by searching out a call signal unless the safety system of the elevator's path is broken, thereby improving efficiency of service.
