MECHANISM FOR UNLOADING LIBRARY DEVICE FORCEDLY

PURPOSE:To reduce the load of host-computers by issuing a forced unloading command to a magnetic tape device from a device not having a direct path to the magnetic tape device and unloading a cartridge tape. CONSTITUTION:The forced unloading mechanism is installed in a magnetic tape library device 8 provided with the storing position for a cartridge tape, plural magnetic device (MTU) 5 and an accessor for a cartridge means of the forced unloading command 12 to a destignated magnetic tape device 5 corresponding to the instruction from the outside is provided in the accessor 2. The issuing means of the forced unloading command 12 is provided in a library control device 9 not having a direct communication means to the magnetic tape device 5. The forced unloading command is issued to the accessor 2 corresponding to a request from a key input part 10 or a request from host computers 7-1 and 7-2.
