A method of producing a non-combustible composite material structure, which comprises the steps of forming a non-combustible liquid continuous phase matrix by adding and mixing metal oxide powder and liquid soluble silicate, preparing a dispersed phase comprising non-combustible fibers or particles, forming an intermediate structure of a composite material by wetting the dispersed phase by the liquid continuous phase, and drying the intermediate structure to cure the continuous phase and obtaining a solidified non-combustible composite material structure. A preferred method provides a composite material laminate structure of a plurality of layers containing continuous glass fibers oriented in two directions. This composite material structure is available in various forms such as a tube structure, a sheet member, a foamed heat insulating material and a paint coating material.
|
