PURPOSE:To provide a sheet-like optical recording material in which picture images are directly recorded by irradiation with laser light which requires no transfer of a toner nor fixing treatment when picture images are recorded. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a polymer as the main component is formed on the surface of a sheet substrate. This polymer has principal skelton of alpha-acetoxystyrene deriv. expressed by the formula, and contains a photocation reaction initiator comprising an iron-arene compd., sensitizing dye, color developing dye. In the formula, each of R1 and R2 is selected from among H, halogen atoms, NH2, NO2, CN, COOH, or alkyl groups, alkine groups, alkene groups, alkoxy groups, hydroxyalkyl groups, alkyl carbonyl groups, alkylcarboxyl group, or aromatic group-substd. alkyl groups which may have substituents of above functional groups or not, R3 is H, a halogen atom, OH, NH3, NO2, COOH, CN or an alkyl group, alkene group, alkine group which may have substituent of the functional group or not, and (n) is an integer from 5 to 10000. |
