PURPOSE:To correct a straight line part of an image into a shape which is uniform in line thickness and has a no-unevenness in contour and to obtain data which are advantageous for vector processing and recognition processing by overwriting a beltlike pattern pat on a corrected place. CONSTITUTION:When an operator inputs a correction selection in and selects a straight-line correcting function, a CPU displays a message indicating that parameters required for the correction are set and inputted. The parameters include the positions of both ends P and Q of an object straight line, the line thickness, the line kind, etc. When the parameters are set and a correction execution instruction is inputted, the CPU finds a beltlike corrected area (hatched part) by using the position specification of both ends P and Q and the line thickness specification. Then a pattern which is previously set corresponding to the kind of the line is read out or edited according to a specific pattern, and the pattern is overwritten on the corrected area. Therefore, plural noises included in one straight line can be corrected and the straight line which is uniform in line thickness and has a straight contour is be obtained. |
