PURPOSE:To superimpose information of a received program onto a television screen by using television program information by a teletext. CONSTITUTION:In the television receiver provided with a teletext reception function, a program of television program information is extracted from a teletext signal of each channel and television program data are stored in a memory 6, and when a remote control commander 9 is used to operate a key of 'channel selection' or 'channel display', the memory 6 is retrieved based on a channel number of a received program and data of a current time outputted from a clock section 7 and relevant television program data are extracted by the retrieval of the memory 6 and a character code for a program title/broadcast time or the like is read from the program data and the code is superimposed on a prescribed position of the television screen for a prescribed time. |
