<p>A magnetic bearing device for freely supporting a rotating loaded shaft (7), said device comprising: (a) a rotor (8) mounted on said shaft (7) via an iron core (9), wherein a plurality of regularly spaced permanent magnets (PM) (10a-10d) are attached to the exterior periphéry of the rotor (8); and (b) a stator (5) surrounding said plurality of permanent magnets (PM) (10a-10d) with an airgap therebetween, wherein a plurality of regularly spaced alternating current electomagnets (6) are disposed on the inner circumferential periphery thereof; wherein said electromagnets (6) are energized successively while said loaded shaft (7) is rotating, sa as to generate a rotating magnetic field, moving along the inner circumference of the stator (5), having a number of poles which is defined by the number of poles on said rotor (8), thereby forming a magnetic bearing to freely support said rotating load shaft (7). <IMAGE></p> |
