PURPOSE:To record a high-quality color image having no density unevenness and color shading. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of recording heads delivering ink of different colors are arranged. The recording heads are reciprocated in the arranging direction thereof for conducting printing in both forward and return paths. In this invention, for completing printing in a predetermined area on a recording material in a plurality of main scanning actions, thinned-out images are successively recorded sequentially selecting a plurality of thinned-out dot matrixes compensating for each other. In addition, thinned-out dot matrixes selected in the same main scanning action are different per color. |
