PURPOSE:To provide a hydrogen-occluding alloy having a large amount of hydrogen to be occuluded, excellent in discharging properties at a high rate and discharging properties at a low temp. and small in self discharge by constituting it of plural phases including a Laves phase compound as a primary phase, to provide its electrode and to obtain an alkali storage battery (hydrogen storage alloy electrode having high capacity and high energy density by using this hydrogen-occluding alloy and electrode. CONSTITUTION:The objective hydrogen-occluding alloy is constituted of plural phases contg. Ni as primary components, Zr as secondary components, Mn as third components, Ti as fourth components and at least one element other than the elements as fifth components. as well as, at the time of defining the content of Ni, Zr, Mn and Ti as (a), (b), (c) and (d), respectively (by atomic ratio), a Laves phase compound satisfying b/a>5/8, c/a>11/20 and d/a>2/5 as a primary phase. |
