PURPOSE:To enhance the recording quality and operating efficiency of a total system by executing a blind discharge on the basis of data and commands transferred after no recording operation has been performed for a prescribed interval and receiving printing data in parallel with the execution of blind discharge. CONSTITUTION:When a timer measures a prescribed time and a signal ITO becomes 1 while a carriage stays at a home position, a flip-flop FTM is set and an AND gate AD1 is opened. Then, the execution signal of blind discharge is transferred to a control section when a specific code is received. A specific code for example NULL code is received through a signal line BUS, an interpreting circuit outputs a signal ICOM and a one shot multivibrator OST outputs a setting time signal IPO 1. Thereby, an AND gate AD2 is opened and an output of an oscillator OSC drives a piezo to discharge ink drops. Also, the signal IPO is transferred to the control section and the end of blind discharge is detected at a fall edge of the signal IPO. Hereafter, when the print data is received, the recording starts. |
