<p>PURPOSE:To prevent generation of the squeal of a disc brake and improve sealing ability between a cover body and a caliper by a method wherein a through-hole having diameter smaller than the inside diameter of a cylinder part is formed in the bottom of a cylinder part and a cover body is provided with a shaft part arranged in the through-hole and a flange member having diameter larger than the diameter of the shaft part and brought into contact with the bottom of the cylinder part. CONSTITUTION:A through-hole 13 having diameter smaller than the inside diameter of a cylinder part 11 is formed in the bottom part 12 of the cylinder part 11 of a caliper 6. A cover body 23 with which the through-hole 13 is closed is provided. The cover body 23 is provided with a shaft part 24 engaged with the through-hole 13 and a flange part 25 arranged on the cylinder part 11 side of the shaft part 24 and having diameter larger than that of the shaft part 24. In the flange part 25, a cover seal member 27 is arranged to a contact surface 26 making contact with the bottom 12 of the cylinder part 11. The liquid pressure of brake liquid is exerted on the end surface 37 of the cover body 23 in a direction in which the end surface is pressed against the through-hole 13 side. Since the liquid pressure is exerted on the bottom 12 of the cylinder part 11, reliability is improved without increasing the strength of a joint between the cover body 23 and the caliper 6 so much.</p> |
