A rotary tool change holder has a carousel (2) with a number of location holes (7) positioned around the periphery. The holes are used for locating the stems of cutting tool holders (9). The carousel is mounted on a block (4) secured to a cross slide on the machine bed and can move linearly in two directions. The tool holders are in the form of units (13) with a pivot mounting that allow the axis to be inclined relative to the main axis (3) of the rotary carousel. An adjusting screw allows the tool position to be fixed. ADVANTAGE - Provides flexibility in tool location.
