PURPOSE:To suppress nonuniformity in slide noise when the title ferrite is used for a magnetic core of a magnetic head, by a construction wherein a single-crystal ferrite and a polycrystalline ferrite are joined and integrated together with a Pd intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:A joined ferrite wherein a single-crystal ferrite 1 and a polycrystalline ferrite 2 are joined and integrated together with a Pd intermediate layer interlaid therebetween. In this jointed ferrite, a joining interface is controlled by a Pd intermediate layer 3 and the disorder and undulation of the interface due to a particle growth of the polycrystalline ferrite 2 are controlled. Thereby an excellent magnetic characteristic as a core material for a magnetic head can be obtained and also nonuniformity in slide noise can be suppressed effectively. Besides, it is unnecessary to adopt such strict treatment conditions as a high temperature, a high pressure, etc., for obtaining a sufficient joining force and the excellent joining interface, and therefore this joined ferrite is also advantageous in terms of machine-ability and productivity. |
