摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the positional accuracy of a dot part, by a method wherein the base plate of a thermal printing head is divided into thermal printing head single bodies and the side surface of the side edge of a dot part is subsequently ground inwardly from a cutting line while the continuity of an inspection electrode is monitored. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the base plate of a thermal printing head having a large number of thermal printing head single bodies 12 formed thereto, one cutting line is set outside a grinding completion line X-X and each single body is cut off along said cutting line. Thereafter, a current is made to flow between a common electrode 17 and an inspection electrode 21 with respect to each single body and one cut surface of a substrate 13 is ground using the grinding part 26 of a grinder through a control part 25 while the continuity state of both electrodes is monitored and detected by a detection part 24. When grinding reaches the grinding completion line X-X, the extending part 23 of the inspection electrode 21 is cut off, and the common electrode 17 and the inspection electrode 21 are brought to a non-continuity state to confirm the completion of grinding.
