2-SUBSTITUTED MEHYL-3-CEPHEM COMPOUND, ITS PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION OF 2-EXOMETHYLENECEPHEM DERIVATIVE

PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a synthetic intermediate, etc., for cephem-based antibiotic substances. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula I [R<1> is H, halogen or (protected)amino; R<2> is H, halogen, lower alkoxy, lower acyl, lower alkyl, etc.; R<1> and R<2> together may form =O; R<3> is H, protecting group or carboxylic acid; R<5> is (substituted)aryl]. Furthermore, this compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an azetidinone derivative of formula II [R<4> is (substituted) aryl] with a nucleophilic agent of formula III (M is metallic atom). Furthermore, a compound of formula IV is obtained by reacting the compound of formula I with a base such as triethylamine.
