PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure-sensitive recording material imparting a high hue and preservability by forming a color forming layer containing a specific phthalide compd. and a specific fluorane compd. along with a color former and a developer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A dispersed coating solution containing a phthalide compound represented by formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are a 1-8 alkyl group, a 5-7C cycloalkyl group, a 3-7C alkoxyalkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, R<3> is a halogen atom or an alkyl group and n is 0-4) and a fluorane compound represented by formula II (wherein R<4> and R<5> are an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group, R<6>, R<7>, and R<9> are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group and R<8> is an alkyl group) along with a colorless- light-colored color former and an electron acceptive developer is prepared. This coating solution is applied to a support and dried to form a color forming layer to obtain a thermal recording material. |
