<p>PURPOSE:To attain proper engine brake force neither too much nor too little according to the acceleration degree corresponding to the gradient of a downhill in a device controlling the engine brake force when an accelerator is set to the off state. CONSTITUTION:When an accelerator is set to the off state from the on state (When step SS17 is NO), the throttle valve opening TH specifying the engine intake air quantity is set to the throttle valve opening TH2 making the driving force nearly zero in the running state on the flat ground in step SS2O, the engine brake force is temporarily adjusted to the control initial value, then the throttle valve opening TH is decreased in response to an increase of the vehicle speed, and the engine brake force is made larger than the control initial value.</p> |
