PURPOSE:To obtain the manufacture of an electrode excellent in low temperature activity and in safety. CONSTITUTION:The manufacturing method of an electrode for an oxygen sensor contains a process in which alkoxide of metal composing an oxide semiconductor or a solid electrolyte making up a sensor section of the oxygen sensor is dissolved into a mixed liquid of a solvent of the alkoxide and diethanol amine to prepare a solution and a process in which chloro platinic acid is added to the solution to obtain a sediment. It also contains a process in which the sediment is calcinated and crushed to obtain a composite powder of a metal oxide (the oxide semiconductor or the solid electrolyte or the equivalence thereof) and a process in which an electrode is formed at the sensor section comprising the oxide semiconductor or the solid electrolyte at the sensor section, using the composite powder.
