The network for the parallel processing of digital data includes nodes which have active processing and communication units. These are in the form of processors and/or channels with or without local memories. Passive communication paths, e.g. optical or electrical lines, interconnect the nodes. A section of the network is in the form of a reduced Kneser graph with a branching capability greater than 2 and a diameter greater than 1. The form is of an 'n' dimensional hexahedron.
