METHOD FOR CULTURING PHOTO-SYNTHETIC PROCARYOTIC MICROORGANISM

PURPOSE:To perform the culture of the subject microorganism facilitating the acquisition of an active ingredient useful as a plant regeneration accelerating agent and a plant growth promoting agent by changing the salt concentration of a medium from the optimal concentration to a high concentration for a time on the culture of a photo-synthetic procaryotic microorganism. CONSTITUTION:When a photo-synthetic procaryotic microorganism is cultured in a medium under the irradiation of light with bubbling air, a salt is added to the medium from the latter logarithmic multiplication period of the strain to the former period of the stationary period so as to give a salt concentration higher approximately 0.05-1M than the optimal salt concentration (the standard medium concentration for strains separated from fresh water regions; 0.17M concentration for strains in brackish water; and 0.5M concentration for strains from sea regions) of the respective photo-synthetic procaryotic microorganisms, and subsequently cultured for a period comprising a half to approximately twice of a doubling time to perform the objective culture.
