PURPOSE:To provide a printer capable of engaging a cassette cover with a closing position on condition that a thermal head and a platen are brought to a pressure contact state. CONSTITUTION:A roller release rod 14 moving to the right or left by revolving a roller release knob 42 to the right or left and a cassette release notch 70 moving before or behind by the revolution of said knob to the right or left are provided. When the roller release rod 14 is moved from a right position to a left position, the corner part 52 thereof pushes up the cam part 54 of a roller support member 13 and the tape feed roller 21 and platen roller 33 supported by the roller support member 13 are brought into contact with a tape driving roller 40 and a thermal head 11 under pressure and, at the same time, the boss 74 of the roller release knob 42 is spaced apart from the cam part 73 of the cassette release notch 70 to move the cassette release notch 70 rearwardly. The engaging part thereof is engaged with the hook part 67 of a cassette cover 60 to lock the cassette cover 60 at a closed position. |
