PURPOSE:To improve input operability for selecting a function item by displaying the slave items of the respective items when there are multiple function items in a document preparing device having an icon menu display function. CONSTITUTION:CPU 1 displays an icon menu corresponding to the items of various functions such as a document preparing/function and an English sentence function on the screen of a display 4. When a target item is designated by a cursor corresponding to the operation of a keyboard 2, a pull down menu consisting of the slave items corresponding to the respective items is displayed on the same screen. CPU 1 executes the function of the slave item designated by the cursor fro the pull down menu. |
