PURPOSE:To control the prevention of the crosstalk of the light between neighboring elements by the spread of the outgoing light from between each element of a light emitting diode array. CONSTITUTION:An end face emission type light emitting diode 1, which comprises lamination structures 12-17 including, at least, the light emitting layer and electrodes 21 and 25 for making that light emitting layer emit a light, and from the end face of the lamination of which light outpout can be gotten, is made separately by a plurality of electric and spatial separation grooves 3 provided at equal intervals. A wall 2 for covering the side and the rear of each element 1 is formed integrally in the separation grooves and by the wall 2d, the spread of the outgoing light from the light emitting end face 4 of each element 1 is controlled, and crosstalk is prevented. |
