The label box consists of two parts (5, 6) aligned one behind the other. The rear part (5), in relation to the end of the stack is stationary whilst the front part (6), holding the grippers (15a-18a), is formed as an extension of the rear part (5). This is pushed onto a support (10a, 10b) driven by the positioning device (28) so that the extension can be moved between the rolling position and rearwardly off-set idling position. The strip like guide elements (13-18) overlap one another at the transition from the rear to the front part. ADVANTAGE - The front part of the box is moved quickly by hand without its drive and support. Allows for inexpensive label format change.
