A plastic musical instrument body (50) having a one-piece garland (20) which is thermally formed under vacuum from a single sheet of plastic material, to the garland (20) are attached top (10) and bottom (40) pieces which are similarly thermally formed from single sheets of plastic, and which have planar peripheral edges, and attached to the garland's (20) internal surfaces are plastic bosses, and plastic reinforcement blocks (24, 28) located at opposite longitudinal ends for attachment of a neck and a tailpiece to the finished instrument body (50).
