COMPOUND OF GRAPHITE DRY MIX MORTAR

PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight graphite dry mix mortar compound having improved uniformity of coating and heat insulating properties by adding cement and various kinds of additives to an expanded aggregate or graphite layer. CONSTITUTION:Natural graphite is treated with peroxyesulfuric acid to give an expanded aggregate of graphite layer. Then about 6 pts.wt. of the expanded aggregate is uniformly blended with about 200 pts.wt. cement and about 10 pts.wt. polyvinyl alcohol resin powder and about 6 pts.wt. alkali-resistant glass fibers as additives. The additives are optionally mixed with one or more additives including silica sand to give a dry mix mortar compound.
