<p>PURPOSE:To push a latch in the direction of plate thickness so as to prevent rattling of the latch and generation of abnormal sounds by providing a protrusion or a cut up piece in the portion of the latch which faces a cover. CONSTITUTION:When a door is closed, a striker 1 located on the side of a vehicle body is engaged in the engagement groove 13 of the latch 8 of a main body 2 located on the side of the door and the latch 8 is rotated and the claw 17 of a ratchet 9 is engaged in a full engagement stepped portion 15 and prevents inversion of the latch 8 and the door is locked. In this case, the latch 8 is rotated about an axis 10 and the ratchet 9 is rotated about an axis 11, and since a protrusion 21 or a cut up tongue piece 22 is formed in one part of the synthetic resin film 19 of the latch 8 and/or the ratchet 9 which faces the inner wall of the recessed portion 7 of a metallic cover plate 3 or a synthetic resin body 4, the latch 8 and/or the ratchet 9 is pushed in the direction of plate thickness and so does not rattle and thus no abnormal sound is generated, and a high-grade locking device provided.</p> |
