PURPOSE:To offer a highly active catalyst used for conversing carbon dioxide to a hydrocarbon having long carbon chains. CONSTITUTION:This carbon dioxide conversion catalyst is formed by oxidation- reduction treating an amorphous alloy consisting of 6-12 atomic % Zr and substantially residual Fe. This catalyst, regardless of the composition with low price meters, shows extremely high catalystic activity by oxidation-reduction treatment, accordingly carbon dioxide is converted at a low temp. to produce hydrocarbon having long carbon chains.
